Reflecting on her aliyah journey, Mrs. Blumenfeld notes
that she has increased self-confidence as a result of living in
Eretz Yisrael. She is grateful for what she has been able to
accomplish as a woman and an American, proving that the
road to success is paved with effort and determination. Mrs.
Blumenfeld also looks back at those sometimes difficult child
raising years and is grateful that all her children are following
a path of Torah and mitzvos.
There are moments when a surge of pure ecstasy envelops
her. One of these special moments occurred one day when
Mrs. Blumenfeld heard noise outside. Going out to see what
the commotion was about, she beheld a group of IDF sol-
diers on their way home, singing enchanting melodies of
Yerushalayim. It was a scene that, for Mrs. Blumenfeld, sym-
bolizes her feelings of great joy and privilege in dwelling in
the Holy Land, our beloved Homeland. “I always wanted to
come to Eretz Yisrael,” she concludes. “I feel so strongly that
this is our Land, that Yerushalayim is ours.”◆
