There is often talk about the lack of
derech eretz (respect) among children. At
the risk of sounding harsh, may I say that
they learn it from their parents!
I recently attended a beautiful program
in one of the schools, where the children
really had a chance to shine. Of course, ev- that they have shown us this past year, es-

camera and wants to use it. I was amazed
to see people stand up in the middle of the
audience to anticipate their child’s part,
without any concern for the people they
were blocking. One woman was asked to
move, and she totally ignored the request.
After all, her picture of her child was the
most important thing – certainly more im-

TO THE EDITOR,
Thank you for printing our letters to
the editor regarding the Ride Gemach. Peo-
ple tell us they enjoy reading the stories in
them. The last letter also helped generate
ride offers. Just today, someone needed an
important item, which is not obtainable in
Baltimore, picked up from a health food
store on River Avenue in Lakewood. Some-
one who offered a ride to Lakewood was
asked if they would go there if it wasn’t out
of their way. The driver said it didn’t matter;
they would go anyway. Well, it turns out
that this health food store is right next door
picked the item up and brought it back to
Baltimore – and even volunteered to deliver
it to the recipient! So, thank you again for
your help.
